Preserving fertility in response to a medical condition.

My Egg Bank North America’s Fertility Preservation Program is designed for patients who have been diagnosed with a medical condition that requires fertility-threatening medical treatments. This program offers an efficient, cost-effective way to freeze your eggs or embryos and the MEB-NA team will provide the support, attention and information needed for you to make the best decision. The Gift of Hope Program includes free patient consultations and deeply discounted fees for both preservation treatments and follow-up IVF cycles. We also help secure affordable medications for those seeking preservation for medical reasons.

The fertility preservation process begins first with a consultation with a network physician. Next, you will undergo prescreening lab work, including preconceptual screening, ovarian and uterine evaluation, and hormonal lab testing. You will then meet with a nurse, who provides an overview of the stimulation process and instructions on self-injection.

At the beginning of the cycle, fertility medication is used to stimulate your egg production. Throughout the process, you will have frequent ultrasounds and lab work to ensure eggs are growing at an appropriate rate. After the series of injections, you will be scheduled to come into the center to have your eggs retrieved. During this process, you will be sedated intravenously.

Once your eggs or resulting embryos are retrieved, our highly trained embryologists will freeze and store them for your future use.

The fee schedule for MEB-NA’s treatment cycle is as follows:

  • $6,000 for cancer or medically necessary patients, which includes:
    • Freezing the eggs or embryos
    • Fertilization of eggs when the patient is ready to move forward (if eggs were initially frozen instead of embryos)
    • Thaw and transfer of the eggs or embryos
    • Up to five years of frozen storage for the eggs or embryos

“When I received the Gift of Hope, relief swept over me. It was one less thing I had to worry about while I was undergoing medical treatment.”

Dr. Dan Shapiro discusses how Reproductive Biology Associates responds to the needs of patients facing chemotherapy or other fertility-threatening treatments.

Fertility preservation helps you by freezing your eggs now at a younger age so you can use them in the future when you are ready for your family.
Fertility preservation can be done on your own timeline. It usually takes about 2.5 to 3 weeks.
